Why is Archeology so important? The answer is plain and simple the past is present in the contemporary. There are lessons from the past for the present. Mistakes once made will be reproduced if not studied before. Knowing the thoughts and tactics of the past will make us use or prevent them.
What use is it for arts? In arts we actually don´t produce any new. If you watch closely you will see that what is presented as the latest has already been made before, slightly different but in principle the same.
Explain! For example cubistic forms were introduced as a new form of art in the early 20th cent however cubistic formations were already used in paintings before geometrical compositions of paintings symbolizing the trinity in a triangle example.
Doesn´t the knowledge of the past prevent us from creating new since we are so trained in the old ways? Not at all you don´t have to invent the whell anew each generation. And it is always good to know what drives us and understand us in our yes and no than stumble around in the present. [...]
